Tumours, in 2020 people living after cancer diagnosis will be 37% more than 2010

In 2020 the number of Italians living after cancer diagnosis will be 3.6 million, 37% more than 2010.
This result is presented in the study, coordinated by Aviano National Cancer Institute IRCCS, in collaboration with the Veneto Region, Istituto Superiore di Sanità and Italian Association of Cancer Registries (AIRTUM), which is part of the project “Population-based estimates and projections of validated indicators of long-term-survival and cancer cure”.

The study is funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC) and it is published on the last issue of the “BMC Cancer”.
