In 2020, 3.6 million Italians will live after having been diagnosed with cancer, 37% more than in 2010. The data is contained in the study coordinated by the National Cancer Institute CRO of Aviano in collaboration with Regione Veneto, Istituto Superiore di Sanità and AIRTUM which is part of the project Prevalence and Cure of Tumors in Italy. The research, funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), was published in the latest issue of the international journal “BMC Cancer”, open access on https://bmccancer.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12885-018-4053-y.
